Ceasefire in Gaza…unlikely with Netanyahu as Prime Minister.

Only Israel’s citizens can stop this now.

First, the obvious thing to many people is that Benjamin Netanyahu is a genocidal maniac.

A man hellbent on killing Palestinian people who got what he wanted from Hamas’ attack on October 7th. That terrible attack on Israel’s citizens gave him the excuse that I believe he was desperately seeking, an excuse for all out war and wiping out the Palestinian people. All the hyperbole from his spokespeople since October 7th seems to bear this out.

I was already getting near the thought that any more ceasefires probably wouldn’t happen and this morning’s L.A. Times article settled it L.A.Times article: dim hopes for a ceasefire in Gaza I don’t believe that the Israeli government will agree to any more ceasefires at all, even if hostages are offered to be released in exchange for one.

I’m afraid that the only way this ends, any time soon, is if the Israeli citizens rise up to remove him and his murderous cronies.

I am not even sure that if President Biden formally and forcefully calls for a ceasefire that it would make any difference to Netanyahu.

But for sure Biden ought to, for humanitarian reasons, political reasons, and historical reasons. I wish he would have done so already. I hope he does soon, like today soon, that would be good. I also hope the citizens of Israel will stop Netanyahu and his government soon, like today soon, that would be great.
